Important Date Change: To January 8th For Board Hearing On Flintwood Rezoning Request

Franktown View

The Board of County Commissioner’s (BOCC) Hearing on the Flintwood Rezoning Request Is Not Tonight.

Unfortunately, the County Has Not Changed the Date on the Signs and, as of Yesterday, It Hadn’t Changed the Date on Their Website, but the BOCC Hearing on This Rezoning Request Has Been Changed to January 8, 2019 at 2:30, (Same Place–100 3rd St., Castle Rock)–the Day That Abe Laydon Is Sworn in to Vote on Rezoning Decisions!

How Can We Not Love Our Community and the Amazing People Who Live Here?  Last night’s showing once again proved what a great place this is to live and what amazing, wonderful people live here. We must move forward together on ANY rezoning request–large or small.  It’s important to never forget that if we don’t fight every single zoning request, win or lose, we send a message to the County that we condone the rezoning of Franktown!  Not rallying to oppose every rezoning request would condone what many of you called this rezoning request last night–it would condone “density creep.”   Last night’s split vote was a bit of a disappointment.  For all of the new people who came last night to speak against this rezoning request, please note:  A Planning Commission  vote IS NOT A FINAL DECISION ON  REZONING–IT’S ONLY A RECOMMENDATION TO THE BOCC.  The Commission Chairman even made clear last night to the Applicant for the rezoning that the Planning Commission’s vote was not a decision on the rezoning that THE BOCC IS THE DECIDING AUTHORITY FOR OR AGAINST ANY REZONING.

So get the word out about the January 8th hearing at 2:30..

See you all there!

Best wishes for the Happiest of Holidays to all of the wonderful Franktown Community from your FCC II Board and Steering Committee.

ONWARD TOGETHER!
