REMINDER: On February 14th oral arguments in the Independence Water case will be heard

Hi Everyone,

A friendly reminder.

Here we are after more than a two year battle. The oral arguments by Independence’s attorney and our attorney, John Buchanan, in our (Franktown Citizens Coalition II and the West Elbert County Well Water Users Association) appeal to try to prevent Independence from taking over 26 million gallons of Upper Dawson water a year off site and selling it will take place.

Oral arguments will be heard on Wednesday, February 14th, 9:00 a.m. at the Colorado Supreme Court in the Ralph Carr Judicial Building, 2 E. 14th Ave., Denver.

There is limited capacity in the supreme court’s chambers so it will be first come first serve. They may have an overflow room with monitors that can be used to watch the arguments. On that note, if anyone is unable to attend but wants to watch, the argument is streamed here: https://www.courts.state.co.us/Courts/live/.

Please show up if you can to let the court know how important our wells and water are to us.

ONWARD TOGETHER,

Diana Love, President FCC II, Inc.
