Hi Everyone,
Most importantly, our community and all of you who live here, is the most amazing place. Despite the weather many people showed up to make sure that the county knows we care about protecting Franktown.  Without all of you, I believe Franktown would be another mass density urban area through rezoning.  Unfortunately, because I was out and about when I received notice from the developer (not the County as requested) only one hour before the Planning Commission hearing about the continuance!, I couldn’t get to my large emails to notify so many of you about the continuance!  I have spoken to supervisors at the County and hope this does not happen again.
NEW DATES:

PLANNING COMMISSION:  MONDAY, DECEMBER 17TH, 7:00.  100 3RD ST., CASTLE ROCK

BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS:  TUESDAY, JANUARY 8, 2019, 2:30, 100 3RD ST., CASTLE ROCK.

I hope to see you all there to show the County we are serious about not wanting any rezoning in Franktown that would increase density.  3 minutes each is allocated for speaking.  Even just saying, the citizens of Franktown do not want any rezoning that increases and why you think that’s important (loss of water, density, traffic, etc) is enough if you sign up to speak.  The more, the better.
There are things cropping up that perhaps after the first of the year we should get together at the firestation for all of you to get updated.  I will let you know.
Bless you all this holiday season.
ONWARD TOGETHER,
Diana Love

I have lived in the Franktown area since 1978 (that’s over 40 years) and I do not want this beautiful and peaceful environment disrupted by piecemeal rezoning requests that do not bear merit and violate the carefully crafted Franktown Comprehensive Master Plan that I had been involved in drafting many years ago. We, the citizens of this exceptional environment , will not tolerate this or any other assault in the form of a rezoning request that will endanger our aquifers, add to population density or increase traffic congestion. With all due respect, please reject this Zr2018-011 Rezoning Proposal, with prejudice. Thank you very much. A very concerned citizen.

We waited at the intersection of Russellville and Hwy 83 for 27 cars going north on 83 recently and then through 3 lights at Franktown before we could even get close enough to turn left on 86. Increased development in the Franktown area will make traffic in the area totally gridlocked.

I am a resident, rancher, real estate broker and have had a 30+ year career in large scale home building. There is an appropriate place for density, but its NOT in Franktown. Let me know what I can do to support and or speak against this!

Having watched Castle Rock expand their city limits to my back door, then thumb their noses at the gridlock, water problems, Douglas County Master Plans, and accompanying viewsheds and ordinances, one can only hope that the county commissioners will protect the portions of Douglas County not already annexed by the ever expanding urbanization characterized by Castle Rock, Parker, and Aurora. What part of no infrastructure, water procurement or zoning is not understood? What cost to the beauty and history of Franktown and Castlewood Canyon is enough or will there ever be a limit? Please protect us, your constituency, as we fight to keep the rural flavor of our little “village”.
