IMPORTANT TO ATTEND: COMPREHENSIVE MASTER PLAN CHANGES TO RURAL COMMUNITIES TO BE DISCUSSED ON AUGUST FIRST!!!
Hi Everyone,
The work session for the Comprehensive Master Plan (CMP) regarding changes for rural communities and nonurban land use is August 1st from 6 – 9 pm at the County Building, 100 3rd St., Castle Rock.
There has been some information going around that discussions by the Planning Commission have dealt with the idea that the CMP, as written now, IMPEDES DEVELOPMENT! If accurate, that is not good for our Planning Commission to be leaning that direction regarding changes they may be contemplating for our County. We all need to keep up on this.
SHOW UP On August 1st to hear what they are planning for the rural communities of Douglas County. It is a work session so public comment is not allowed at this time, but listening to the staff’s presentation and the Planning Commissions comments will give us an idea of what we may have to fight!! Staying involved is so important.
FYI: On July 19th, your FCC II Board and Steering Committee met with the head of the planning section that is working on the CMP changes. I told you in my last email I would give you an update. We gave them the documents that I sent to you in my last email and discussed them at length. I’ve attached them again for your information. The only comments I’ve heard from any of you have been agreement with the positions in those documents. At that meeting, they said that Franktown wasn’t part of this CMP effort at this time but would be handled later–no date has been set. We FORMALLY asked that our requests be included in this effort now. I’ll keep you posted.
PLEASE SHOW UP ON AUGUST 1ST TO FIND OUT WHAT THEY PROPOSE TO DO WITH THE RURAL COMMUNITIES OF DOUGLAS COUNTY, TO LET THEM KNOW WE’RE WATCHING THEM AND TO LET THEM KNOW HOW IMPORTANT PROTECTING OUR COMMUNITY IS TO US!
ONWARD TOGETHER.
Warm regards to the best community citizens ever,
Diana Love
