THIS IS IT, the Final Vote on the Proposed Rezoning of Franktown at the Board of the County!

SaveFranktown Postcard-1

26 July UPDATE:

The speakers continue July 27th at 2:30.  I know it’s a long process but anything worth fighting for is worth the effort!  AND IT’S SO IMPORTANT TO KEEP PACKING THE HEARING ROOM.  See  you Thursday July 27th at 2:30.

Hi Everyone,

bannerHow do I find the right words?

You all have been amazing showing up at the Planning Commission hearings time after time, signing postcards, sending letters and emails, picketing (even in the rain!), signing the petition and contacting people door to door, calling your neighbors and friends, helping with donations and speaking with your heart the facts that show how destructive this rezoning would be to Franktown.  And look what we did TOGETHER.  The Planning Commission voted unanimously to recommend that the Board of County Commissioners (BOCC) deny the developers’ rezoning proposal!  But now it’s the FINAL VOTE on the developers rezoning proposal.   All of you know by now that if this is approved it will be disastrous for Franktown’s rural character, its school, its open spaces, it’s water and natural resources and its historical heritage.

WE MUST FILL THE HEARING ROOM!  PLEASE SHOW UP AT 1:30 (BRING FAMILY, AND FRIENDS TOO) TO START SIGNING UP TO SPEAK AND TO PICKET!   EVEN IF YOU DON’T WANT TO SPEAK, YOUR PRESENCE IS VITAL BECAUSE THIS IS THE ONLY WAY WE CAN SHOW THEM HOW SERIOUS WE ARE ABOUT STOPPING THIS PROPOSAL!

The hearing starts at 2:30 at 100 Third St., in Castle Rock.  Try to be there at that time, but, even if you can’t make it right then, it will be going on for awhile so come as soon as you can! Remember to be professional and courteous.   It might be hard because this is so very important but I think this is one of the reasons that the Planning Commission really listened to all of us.   Contact Dan Craig or Ginney Regan (Communications Team Chair)  to picket.  They will be there at 1:30.

Your Board and Steering Committee have worked hard to put together amazing presentations.  If you get there early to sign up, please leave the first 19 spaces open for those presentations.

Bless each and everyone of you.  See you July 25th to let yourself be heard.

ONWARD TOGETHER!

With a grateful and humble heart for you allowing me to represent this community in this cause as your FCC II president,

Diana Love
